The Friendship Garden At Cottonwood Falls Park
The Japanese sister city Friendship Garden, through its thoughtful design and ongoing care, offers peaceful tranquillity throughout all seasons. It represents a link with our sister city of Izu-shi and reminds us of our global connections with people of all cultures.
The Garden’s location next to Cottonwood Creek and the waterfall in Cottonwood Falls Park creates opportunities to enjoy, appreciate, and reflect on Nelson’s natural environment.
In 2021, Friendship Society members renewed the garden with new plantings, seasonal pruning, and pathway improvements. Our ‘Weedy Wednesday’ volunteers gave the gardens new life through their weekly care and attention. We hope you enjoy your visits to the Friendship Garden.
