About 50 people enjoyed a lovely summer evening at the annual O-bon Picnic at Cottonwood Falls Park on Friday August 11th. Along with the picnic supper, the program included a few stories about O-bon customs in Japan and Canada, a table of photos in memory of family members who have passed away, the special experience of wearing summer yukatas (several donated by our friends in Izu-shi), dancing to the Tankou Bushi and Tokyo Ondo, and walking through the Friendship Garden, made more beautiful by our paper lanterns.
Many thanks to everyone who came and helped to make the evening a success!
