We finally held our O-bon Picnic at the Taghum Hall on Sunday August 19th, rescheduled from Lakeside Park the Sunday before due to the extreme smoke in our valley. While a few people couldn't make it, everyone who came had a thoroughly enjoyable time: we shared a delicious pot luck dinner, learned about O-bon in Japan and in Canada, found out about recent Friendship Society activities including the 2019 Exchange Visits, sang Japanese summer songs, enjoyed learning and dancing two Bon Dances, and made new friends. And there was no smoke inside the Taghum Hall!
